Authentic Italian Without the Passport

"Anyone can add sauce to pasta,
but few can offer a true taste of Italy..."

At his namesake Williamsburg restaurant, Maurizio Fiorello offers perfectly prepared Italian dishes and genuinely sincere hospitality every day.

Maurizio is originally from a small town in Palermo, Sicily.  The chef began his restaurant career almost three decades ago when he came to the United States at the age of 15.  He worked at his family's restaurant, learning the Old World way from recipes of his beloved mother.  Eventually Maurizio was able to open a restaurant of his own and to this day it is still located in the Festival Market Place on Route 60 Williamsburg, VA.

Folks in Williamsburg and across the Hampton Roads know the name Maurizio's is synonymous with quality food with a Mediterranean flair.  That comes from the pride and effort that Maurizio and his family put into it.  In fact, Maurizio's is filled with family.  You can find Maurizio himself there, all day, everyday.  His wife is in the kitchen making sure everything runs smoothly and he has his brother n law and nephew out in the dining room.  On certain days, Maurizio's son, Frankie, is in the back, learning the family craft, and Maurizio's father, PaPa, would always sit near the front door, overseeing service and welcoming guests. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us but his spirit still remains strong within the restaurant.

But beyond the great family stories and welcoming atmoshere, the food alone is enough to draw folks into Maurizio's.  It's truly unlike other Italian food in the area - made fresh daily with only the best ingredients, nothing is canned or frozen, and everything is carefully watched over by Maurizio himself.

A few of the don't miss appetizers are the Antipasto Siciliano, which is a sample of Italian deli meats, olives, roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella and then the popular Carciofi Adriana, which is marinated artichokes and fresh mozzarella wrapped in proscuitto, warmed and drizzled with seasoned extra virgin olive oil.
